What is Nevada Auto Exchange?
It's a local marketplace for buying and selling vehicles across Northern Nevada — Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Tahoe and beyond. Private sellers and dealers list cars; local buyers browse, search and message directly. No out-of-state noise, no middleman.
Why are there only a few listings right now?
Because we recently launched — and we'd rather be honest about that than fake it. Being early is genuinely an advantage: sellers who list now get far more attention per car, and buyers get first pick before the crowd arrives. The site grows every week.
What areas do you cover?
We're Northern Nevada–first — Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Lake Tahoe and the surrounding region — and open to sellers and buyers across the whole state.
Selling a car
How much does it cost to list my car?
Right now, the first 100 private sellers list completely freeas Founding Sellers. After that, listing is a simple $1 one-time fee. Either way there's no subscription and no commission.
Do you take a commission when my car sells?
Never. Whatever you sell your car for, you keep every dollar of it. We are not a broker and we don't take a cut of the sale.
How long does my listing stay up?
Until you mark it sold. There's no time limit and no relisting fee — your car stays visible to local buyers for as long as it takes.
How do I get paid for my car?
You and the buyer arrange payment directly — that keeps you in full control. We never touch the money for your vehicle. See our safety tips below for handling payment securely.
Can car dealers use Nevada Auto Exchange?
Yes. Dealers get a verified profile and a subscription that covers unlimited inventory. See dealer plans.
Buying a car
Does it cost anything to browse or contact a seller?
No. Browsing, searching, saving favorites and messaging sellers are all completely free for buyers.
How do I contact a seller?
Open any listing and use the “Message seller” button. Messages go through your account inbox, so you can reach a seller without handing over your phone number until you choose to.
Trust & safety
Is my phone number private?
Yes. All conversations happen through in-app messaging. Your phone number is never shown — you share contact details only if and when you decide to.
How do I stay safe in a sale or purchase?
Meet in a busy public place during daylight (many police stations offer safe-exchange zones). Inspect the car and paperwork in person, consider an independent mechanic's check, and use secure payment — cash in a safe setting or a verified bank transfer. Never send money for a car you haven't seen.
I saw a suspicious listing — what do I do?
Tell us right away via the contact page and we'll review it. We remove listings that break our rules.
